Abstract

Plant stresses are one of the major constraints to crop production and food security worldwide. Stress is regarded as something that lowers crop yields in the cultivation of crops. The abrupt and rapid changes in the climate around the world have made the problem worse. To put it another way, a stress is an outside event that causes crop yields to drop from their maximum level to a lower one. Stress has a negative impact on a number of morphological, biochemical, and physiological processes that are closely related to plant growth and productivity. Low temperature, high temperature, water shortage, excess water, salt water, mechanical impedance, and environmental pollution are some of the most significant stresses on plants that have a significant impact on crop development and output. For better management, it is crucial to comprehend the physiological, biochemical, and ecological actions connected to these stresses. Morphological, physiological, and biochemical responses could be broadened to encompass a wide spectrum of plant responses to various challenges. It's interesting that this book gives a thorough overview of how plants react to stimuli, paying particular attention to the similarities and contrasts. The proposed chapters will also focus on modern breeding techniques that can be used to improve plant responsiveness to stress. In the future, a holistic strategy that takes into account the many management approaches to address Plant stress simultaneously might be a win-win strategy.
